HORNÍ LIPOVÁ

We are an active couple that cannot be at one place for too long. So we often go to the mountains we fell in love with Jeseníky because it  is "mother nature" at her best. Unspoiled and free spirited wilderness which of course cannot be found in the city.

We also have a small child, so we know from first hand experience that the whole family will have fun.

During the winter months there are plenty of places to go skiing with a small child. For example you can find cross-country skiing trails just behind the main house.

In the summer we enjoy low terrain but interesting long hiking trails. In addition, we actively ride bicycles so we are very appreciative of the many bike trails to be enjoyed.

How to get here?

  • By train

The recommended, and certainly the best train connection, is a direct train from Brno to Horní Lipová (Upper Lipová). Although it takes 3 hrs. and 21 mins., a good book or a couple of films would certainly pass the time and shorten your journey. However, the good news is that when you do get here the train stop is only a 5 min. walk from the premises. (apartment)

  • By car

Traveling by car for some is not as much fun as traveling by train but then again it is faster. The tried and tested route is from Brno to Prostějov - Olomouc - Mohelnice - Zábřeh - Hanušovice - Ostružná - Horní Lipová. The journey takes approximately 2 hrs.

HORNÍ LIPOVÁ - UPPER LIPOVÁ

You can find this village on the border of Hrubý Jeseník and Rychlebské Mountains in the Staříč brook valley. This location is mainly known by people who usually cycle through to Ramzovské saddle and then onto Jeseníky. The climatic spa in Dolní Lipová is well known, and railway enthusiasts will be delighted by the Silesian Semmering Mountain train tracks. Plus in Horní Lipová a quaint railway museum is located right at the railway station.

RYCHLEBSKÉ HORY - RYCHLEBSKÉ MOUNTAINS

Cycling enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity of the Rychledské hory which are located just north of Jesenik. The mountains are seperated in the west by Kralický Snežnik, the Kladký saddle, and from the south by Hrubý Jeseník.

OBŘÍ SKÁLY - GIANT ROCKS

This is a mysterious place indeed, which one can find on a map between the villages of Horní Lipová and Ramzová in Jeseníky. Legend states that it was supposedly created thanks to a giant named Amik. This large rock formation is found about 7 kms. south west of the town Jesenik, near the top of Šerák mountain. When on top of the rocks you can see the Rychlebské Mountains, the Kralický Sněžník range, the Bělá valley, the Ostružná wind power station and the Polish mountain peaks but only when the weather co-operates.

LESNÍ BAR - FOREST BAR

Right above the village of Horní Lipová you will surely be surprised when you come across a forest bar. This is where you can not only enjoy a refreshing cold beer but other beverages as well complimentary cookies are for those who need a snack and occasionally hot beverages are also sold here. The bar is open 24 hrs with a small cashbox to put money in for what you have bought.
